Charlotte Court Mews Cottages, Ramsgate

Client: Neilson Projects Ltd

Location: Ramsgate, Kent

Area: 220 sqm

Value: £500,000

Procurement: Traditional

Fleet were granted planning permission for the redevelopment of a Grade II listed property in the centre of the seaside town of Ramsgate. Ramshackle warehouse out-buildings have been cleared from the yard to the rear of the property to allow for 2 new mews cottages accessed from the quiet courtyard.

The district council and stakeholders were highly complementary of the proposals which used a sympathetic yet contemporary and rational palette of materials addressing the prevalent vernacular materials of Charlotte Court: timber, flint and red brick.

Internally, the Cottages utilise SIPS construction to maximise the eaves space and volume to utilise as much space within the build. Living areas are raised to the piano nobile for improved light, privacy and view.

The project completed in 2020
