Fleet Architects and YOU&ME worked in collaboration with landscape specialists Sara Sall Studio to come up with a playful and engaging proposal for the Grade II-Listed Lea Bridge Library and surrounding garden. The proposed scheme blurs the boundaries between inside and outside spaces – library and garden – to create a tranquil yet playful and vibrant environment with the community at its core.

The proposal focuses heavily on community engagement and addressing hard-to-reach local groups and individuals, through an extensive and multi-media community engagement strategy, which includes user co-design and activities during the pre-construction, building and post-completion phases, ensuring the successful social implementation and legacy of the project for the Leyton area.

The project received mayoral good growth funding.
